The Moore Catholic Football Program under the direction of Head Coach Nick Giannatasio will field a Junior Varsity as well as a Varsity Football team in the Fall of 2016.
The Football program was re-established two years ago. The students who came in as freshmen in 2014 will now be competing at the Varsity level. In addition, students who are entering their Senior year at Moore are also eligible to try out for the Varsity squad. All incoming freshmen, as well as returning sophomores and juniors, are welcome to join the Mavericks!
Coach Giannatasio has worked tirelessly along with his fine staff to ensure a quality competitive experience for all of the student-athletes. Strength and conditioning work outs are a major component of the program. Multiple sport athletes in good academic standing benefit from the opportunity to compete in more than one sport. There is a tremendous improvement in agility, flexibility, speed and balance. A better well conditioned student-athlete competes at a higher level in every sport. At Moore Catholic, we encourage each student-athlete to enjoy their scholastic athletic opportunities.
The football facility is comprised of a beautiful turf field, weight room, an air conditioned film room as well as the football office and locker rooms. This season, the Mavericks will play one Friday night game under the lights at home. The annual Homecoming Game will be on Saturday, October 29th. More information regarding the schedule will be posted on the website at a later date.
