Dear Alumni and Friends of Moore Catholic,
The Hall of Fame Golf Outing and Dinner will be held on Thursday, May 3 rd 2018. This year we will be honoring seven outstanding alumni. Monsignor Thomas F. Petrillo ’75 will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award as the first Moore Catholic graduate to enter the priesthood. He is currently the pastor at Saints John & Paul Parish in Larchmont, New York.
The Ryan Family will receive the Moore Catholic Family Award. Patrick ‘81, Kathryn ‘84 and Michael ‘85 began the Staten Island ACHIEVE Dollars for Scholars, a chapter of Scholarship America’s Dollars for Scholars program. This organization provides financial assistance to outstanding high school graduates for college expenses.
The Hall of Fame Committee has selected three former students to be inducted into the Moore Catholic Hall of Fame. Ann Marie Henderson ‘75 was a dual sport student-athlete who returned to Moore Catholic as a teacher in the science department and softball coach. During her tenure, the Mavericks won two state championships. Ann Marie is an attorney and serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees. She has worked tirelessly to ensure a bright future for her beloved alma mater.
Sue Harnett ‘86 is the all-time leading scorer for the girls basketball program with 2,011 points and led the Mavericks to Staten Island, Archdiocesan and State Championships. At 6’4 she dominated girls basketball with style and grace. She received a full scholarship to Duke University and was inducted into the Duke Hall of Fame in 2002.
Nick Doscher ‘05 was a standout quarterback for the football program and an exceptional catcher for the Maverick baseball team. During his career at Moore, he led both programs to highly successful seasons. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals and played four years in the organization. Nick also enjoyed a stellar football career at Wagner College.
You can pay tribute to these exceptional individuals by enjoying a day on the golf course, attending the dinner, acknowledging them with a page in the souvenir journal or by taking a golf sponsorship. Please join us for a very special event for our honorees and Moore Catholic High School.
