Welcome to Moore Catholic High School!
Since our founding in 1962, Moore Catholic High School (MCHS) has been a leading choice for motivated students seeking a fully-balanced, individualized educational experience. As the only co-educational Catholic high school located in mid-Staten Island, MCHS is in a unique position to offer a student-centered learning environment in the Catholic tradition of excellence in education.
Our academic offerings include Advanced Placement and St. John’s University College Advantage courses. In accordance with the standards set forth by the New York State Board of Regents, all of our students graduate with either a Regents Diploma or a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation.
Our Institute for the Performing Arts continues to earn multiple awards at the Minty’s Gala. Our top-flight athletics program includes the 2016 Division “A” Catholic High School Football League Championship Varsity Football Team and the 2017 Catholic High School Athletic Association New York State Girl’s Varsity Softball Team. Both these teams were honored by proclamation at City Hall.
In recent years, our graduates have been accepted to top colleges and universities, including the University of Notre Dame, Stevens Institute of Technology, Howard University, and the William E. Macaulay Honors College at the City of New York. The class of 2017 earned an average of $92,000 per capita in scholarship awards.
In addition to the various clubs, extracurricular activities and community service opportunities, our International Program encourages multicultural learning among our students.
Please take a moment to explore our website. Prospective students can participate in our “Maverick for a Day” program. There are multiple opportunities for our families and alumni to reconnect or stay connected.
This is an exciting time to be part of the “Moore Renaissance!”
Best Personal Regards,
Mrs. Gina L. DeSantis, Principal
