PRESENTATION SCHOLARS ACADEMY (PSA)
Challenge, rigor and self-directed learning are the hallmarks of Moore Catholic High School’s program for its most academically gifted candidates.
Named in honor of the Presentation Sisters who served as the original staff at Moore, the PSA is designed to support the growth and development of outstanding students in an exciting and intellectually challenging environment. The program is also dedicated to developing strong character, a commitment to social justice, and a spiritual and ethical foundation that will guide our graduates’ decisions throughout their lives. PSA teachers learn about their students’ strengths and encourage their finest work. The teachers provide structure while fostering increased independence.
All course material mandated by the New York State Board of Regents is strictly followed. Several courses have accelerated Regents examination schedules. Small class size allows for increased individual attention. Teachers collaborate to present common themes across the curriculum.
PSA students will be placed in Advanced Placement courses which are offered in Biology, English Language and Composition, English Literature and Composition, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, U.S. History, U.S. Government and Politics, World Civilizations and Computer Science.
PSA students can also be enrolled in the St. John’s College Advantage Program and earn college credits in the following subjects: Anatomy and Physiology, Biology, Calculus AB, College Algebra and Trigonometry, Probability and Statistics, Psychology, English Literature and Composition and English Language and Composition.
